I deserve a pat on the back

135 sit ups in an hour...and a little bit. Yeah!!!

Been keeping up with this for about 3 weeks already I think. Need to lose so much more weight as I just weigh myself yesteday and I was...*gulps*

96kgs!!!

*gasps*

Have to eat less!! Work out more!!

And I definately need Powerthirst

RAWR!!!

East trip is HAPPENING!

Colin and I will be flying over to the east on the 1st of July. We'll be heading to Sydney first, then Canberra and finally Melbourne. This will be awesome!!!

Besides that, nothing much happened in the past week. I've just been working through out the week. That made the days pass like minutes. Although I did attend a colleague's birthday gathering thingy on Friday night. She just turned 18! Oh how young people are these days. And to top that off, most of her friends are around 17 - 19 years of age! Half of them are still in Year 12. I was telling them that TEE is not the end all and be all cause look at me, I failed TEE and still made it through despite the fallback. So I was just telling them my stories for when I was younger, stories from the best years of my life back when I was living with San. Yes, year 2 and 3 of uni was THE best years of my life up till now. Nothing has topped it yet. Maybe nothing ever will unless I strike lottery and go on a massive around the world trip. Hmmm.....maybe.

Working out

And so, for the past week, I've been working every day. I have lots of weight to shed, and considering I have been bumming around, I might as well do something productive in the meant time. I am also starting to get my working shifts back. So what this means is that I'll be staying active from work, and be working out at the same time. Now that I'm sorta settled into my working out regime, I just have to settle out my consumption amount. I simply have to muster the willpower to not eat when I shouldn't be. I do, however, wonder how long I can keep up this routine. Longest period of time I ever held a routine was 3 months I think. Let's see this time.

I have yet to receive my new COE to extend my stupid student visa. Either my supervisor has yet to send the required documents to the visa officer, or its the visa officer that's yet to give me my COE.

Live long and prosper!

I just watched the new Star Trek movie and it's pretty good! Aside from the fact that I'm a sci-fi fan, it's a pretty sweet movie. Effects are great, and through out the movie, I was wondering if the main bad dude is in fact Eric Bana...and he is! And John Cho (Harold, from Harold and Kumar) is pretty cool in this movie, opening a can of whoop ass (two cans in fact).

Nothing of exciting as of lately, still waiting on for my visa extension to go through Curtin first, then to DIAC. $450 down the drain...again. To compensate, I'm working extra shifts lately. My money reserves are dropping rapidly >_<

What do I do?

People have recently asked me this question, "So what do you do everyday?" ever since I've "completed" my thesis. The answer is simply bumming. All I do is play games, go to work occasionally, and meet up with friends. Sounds like the life to you? To be honest, not really. During the first week of so called "freedom", I felt abit lost. As I have already previously posted, it gets abit depressing. Anyways, all I do is just play games (www.eve-online.com), bum around, hang out heaps and work once in a while while dodging customs officer that want to deport me out of this country!

Ilegal immigrant status here I come!

As I've mentioned, effective 26th of May, I'll be an illegal immigrant to Australia. And there's a problem. You see, my supervisor was supposed to read my thesis, hand it back to me with the proper corrections that it needed then finally hand it in and get it marked all before 25th of May.

EXCEPT

That none of those happened. I handed my thesis to him on the 25th of April for him to read. I figured he'll take at least a week to read it, 2 weeks at most. So after a whole week, I emailed him if he's read my thesis and told him about my visa status. No reply from him. So I emailed him YESTERDAY if he's read my thesis, and he replied no. He also said that he has no time to read my thesis cause he's waaaaay too busy preparing for a conference of his somewhere else in the world. The only free time he has to read my thesis is on his plane trip, which is on the 24th of May.

-_-'

Now my plan was to get onto bridging visa by at least the 25th and be on my merry way onto finding a full time job with the PR application behind my back. Buuuuuuut noooooooooooo, I can't now thanks to him. So now I've left with the only option of extending my student visa YET again, which will set me back a cool $450.

Am I pissed or what?!?

A night at the casino

Despite my post last night, I actually did end up going out. I went out last night to the casino with Colin. The initial plan was to get these two girls that Colin met to come with us. After much impersonation by yours truly as Colin to get them out, I decided to forget about them as we were just wasting time. So on we went to the Casino!

We started off the night slow, by playing that fruit game. If you don't know what the fruit game is (No, its not an eating competition), it's basically a chance based game. The dealer (or rather wheel spinner) spins this huge wheel where the wheel is divided into fair sized slots. Each slot has a drawing of a specific fruit. Each fruit has a different pay out as each fruit has a different number of slots. For example, the cherry has only a one times pay out but has the most chances of getting chosen as it has the most slots on the wheel.

So we played that game for a little while, losing money slowly along the way. After $10, we decided to go try our luck at the Blackjack table instead. It was rather interesting as we started out pretty bad, but slowly our luck picked up. In the end Colin broke even. We then decided its time for some drinks so we headed to Paddy Hannan's. It's a nice place, especially the quiet section of the bar as you can actually talk to someone else without screaming across the table. We played this rather funny game called "20 questions". Here's how it goes, a person think of someone (we started out with celebrities) and the other can ask 20 questions to get clues about the someone. We slowly drifted away from celebrities to practically anyone (be it human or not). Colin got me good once as I had to ask 70 questions to get it right. It was Stewie from Family Guy...

And then our night got even more interested from there. As we were drinking and playing that game, this bloke came outa no where and said, "Judging from your expression, you guys are Arsenal fans?" (The tv was on with a soccer match). So then we sat together and played the 20 question game till we got kicked out of the bar. We headed to back into the Casino to get some chow and guess what, we met even more people there! So the 6 of us, one Aussie, one British, 2 German, 1 Malaysian and 1 Singaporean sat down at the cafe and just talked the night off. It was a nice cultural exchange so to say and we got to know these nice people. Can you believe that the Santi and Michelle (Ok, I don't know how to spell her name properly. But I think Michelle is the English equivalent), both the Germans, have been on holiday around Australia and met the Aussie dude (Brandon...I think. He's from Adelaide) in Sydney. And from there, the Germans visited him in Adelaide and then got him to fly to Perth to holiday with them! How funky is that?!

We talked about music, games, personal taste in things and other sorts of things with these guys. But I was getting tired at 3.45am so we bid them farewell. Michelle gave me her email and Facebook profile so that we could keep in touch and I told them where I work and to drop by so that we can arrange further outings. As we were walking out, Colin decided to gamble away his chips as he said there's no such thing a break even in a casino. So we headed to the Blakcjack table again and gambled until it was 4.30am. In the end, Colin walked away $30 richer! What a night I would say. We met new people, spent great time together and he left with his wallet a little bit fatter.

But after last night, it made me think about my life in general. Us Asians are brought up with the mentality of being rich and successful. But these guys, their goal in life is all about fulfilment, adventure and happiness. I envy these guys. Being able to backpack across a whole country and constantly meet new people. Wouldn't you like that too?

Another interesting thing to note, Brandon's not really backpacking the whole of Australia as he lives in Adelaide, but he is currently studying social work. He goes around and help Aboriginals that are just released from prisons. There IS still good left in this world despite what people say. Also, on our way home, Colin and I were talking about the people we met and here's what Colin had to say about Brandon, "If I told my parents I wanna go help people, let alone help the aboriginals, my parents would probably slap me". Which is true....if you're Asian, try telling your parents you wanna go help aboriginals and see their reaction.

After a nice quiet weekend

This weekend was a nice quiet one spent with Chee. She's been complaining that I've not been spending enough time with her, and been going out heaps. Which is true. And therefore that's why I decided to spend time with her this weekend. We ate out for lunch on both days, and watched movies. Just general bumming together.

Saw Cinq's mum in an Oriental store yesteday in Myaree! For some unknown reason, I tend to bump into her a lot, here and there! Chee and I also bumped into a friend of mine who happens to know a friend of Chee's who was working in Myaree and both our friends knew each other! Talk about six degrees of separation!

I'm rediscovering Paulo Nutini again after looking for some soft slow music. I've been listening to too much gangsta (Flo Rida) and emo (My Chemical Romance) music lately so decided its time to change. I feel like some new music though. Any recommendations?

Getting a little bit worried

My supervisor has yet to reply me about my thesis. I'm getting worried now as I only have 2 more weeks till I'm an illegal immigrant in this country. Oh gawd, what the hell is he doing?!?!

On other news, was REALLY tired after work yesterday. Must have been from the accumulated tiredness from the past two days. Worked with a new guy, his name is Jack. And he's from London. Kinda nice guy to talk to, although abit hard to understand him sometimes thanks to his accent. And I made cones again after quite a long time! And I have to say, I still got it.

Weekend is coming and I have nothing planned. How weird.

The second time I experience a hang over

Lunch was nice yesterday, with Deborah and I having hang overs. Funny thing was, on the way to UWA, I saw 3 cars being pulled over by 3 separate cops. Must be a field day for the police =D

I was dead tired when I reached home, in which I took a nap for 3 hours straight! If not for Chee ringing me up, I wouldn't have waken up at all! The nap still did not cure my hang over, which made me go abit like a zombie the rest of the night.

I'm gonna head to work in a bit and I'll be working with a new guy today. Time to take out the whips and whip this new guy into something useful. Heh.

And so....

I'm sitting here at 9.42am, slightly still intoxicated from last night's drinking session. As usual, it was great fun, got to know more of my closest friends, and we drank....or at least Deborah and I drank heaps. We both woke up still intoxicated while Colin and Aaron left unscathed. And now, since that Ikea brekky has been canceled for this morning (OMG I was so looking forward to this), so Broadway for lunch would have to do.

And so, I have finished my thesis...sorta. My supervisor has been reading it for the past 1.5 weeks and still hasn't returned any e-mail to me. I'm getting a lil bit worried as my visa expires on the 25th of May. I just hope he replies me ASAP and I can get it all done right and get it marked. I only need to pay for my PR application (which is a 30 minutes or less process) to get my bridging visa. If not guys in black suits will come knocking on my door!

And now that my thesis is sorta completed, I've just lost an aim/goal in life. Its really weird as you know that within the foreseable future, nothing's set or planned out for you. No school or uni to go to the next semester, nothing at all. My future from now on is a new blank page in my life, just waiting for me to begin writing in it. And so without any drive or motivation in life now, all I do everyday is just play games, take naps, watch movies and just anything random on the computer. Its sad I know, but until I get my PR stuff sorted, I can't really go around passing my resume just yet. Some might say that's a plan already, but to me, it isn't. I know that my things to do right now is:

Thesis -> PR application -> Find a full-time job -> ? -> Profit!

Now the first 2 are really crucial to me, while the rest is sorta...meh. I've been trying to find things to fill my time with, such as finding a hobby or something. In my hunt, I found an Aikido club in Perth practising the Yoshinkan style in Bedford. Delighted with what I found, I decided to go check it out. To my horror, it was $70 per month, on top of a yearly membership fee of $100. That's close to $1000 per year! I don't have that kinda cash right now! As much as I wanna continue practising, I can't afford it =(
Plus, the instructor isn't the best I've seen at teaching his students although he does knows his stuffs.

I've decided that since I have heaps of time on my hands now, I shall continue blogging. Its been close to year since I last blogged, and I hope to change that. So let's hope I keep blogging!!
